On February 17th we lost as many have called Jerome, a modern renaissance man. Jerome Gonzalez was recognized as a future leader in Somerville. He was very active in our art community, collecting donations for different workshops to have children connect with art. Also a member of Sons of Mudarchy, he was always in a race for a cause (Victims of 9/11, Cystic Fibrous, Cancer, just to name a few.) Author of Pothole, and Giorgio and The Olive Branch, Rome was a master motivator, dreamer, believer, inspiration, and supporter. He supported my dreams of becoming a Salon Owner and would give me the shirt off his back if he knew I needed it.
In his memory, Arts On Division, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corp in Somerville is organizing a mural to tribute to Jerome. In order to do this we needed to raise $6,000 to cover the cost of the materials and cost of insurance.
Please check out our fundraiser that was an absolute success in memory of Jerome.
